Teaching Principles

SCT (Small Class Teaching)

G.T. College has been advocating and practising Small Class Teaching (SCT) in Hong Kong since 1996. With small classes ranging from 26-28 students per class, teachers are able to have more contact with students.

EMI (English as Medium of Instruction)

G.T. College is a school with English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI). G.T. students have attained a high English standard so that they can communicate effectively with overseas students in our international exchanges with countries such as Australia, Singapore, Canada, the UK and USA.

MI (Multiple Intelligences)

G.T. was probably the first school in Hong Kong to espouse Multiple Intelligences, a theory proposed by Harvard psychologist Howard Gardner. The theory of multiple intelligences is a model of intelligence that differentiates it into specific (primarily sensory) “modalities”, rather than seeing intelligence as dominated by a single general ability.

Innovative Curriculum

G.T. College follows, and goes beyond the Education Bureau curriculum guidelines and syllabuses. Generally the local school syllabuses will be covered with extensions in various subject domains. Teaching and learning will proceed at a quicker pace and students’ active participation will be emphasized.

G.T. College has developed, with subject specialists, many school-based curriculum materials to meet the needs of gifted students.

Life Education

All along we want to provide a good education supported by research and human values. We wish to be part of the world and to contribute in the frontier of education

Joy and Excellence

We believe joyful learning and academic excellence can go hand in hand. At G.T., learning is fun while students excel academically. This is achieved through effective teaching and the cultivation of a positive learning attitude among students.
